Wine Tasting in Tuscany – a journey through flavor and tradition

Perched among the rolling hills of Greve in Chianti, Castello Vicchiomaggio is one of Tuscany’s most celebrated wine estates - a place where history, craftsmanship, and passion come together in every glass.

For generations, the Matta family has dedicated itself to producing exceptional wines that reflect the heart and soul of the Tuscan terroir. The estate spans 140 hectares, with 24 devoted to vineyards of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, cultivated under the warm Mediterranean sun and nurtured by the rich Alberese soil.

From the harvest - taking place between late September and mid-October - to the careful vinification in temperature-controlled tanks and the patient aging in French oak barrels for up to 24 months, every step of the process honors tradition and quality.

During your visit, you’ll walk through the historic cellars and learn the secrets behind Vicchiomaggio’s award-winning wines. Guided tours last about 90 minutes and are available by appointment only.
